Photographer’s Note
Our main star in Gdańsk - The Crane - is the most recognizable landmark. Please have a look at JASMIS's WS:)))
It was first mentioned in 1367, this shape was known 1442-1444, it had a defence function. It consisted of two brick towers with a wooden lifting mechanism installed in between. The reloading equipment consisted of two pairs of wooden wheels which were put in motion by port workers. The crane was used to put up masts and reload goods. It was also a city gate.
As a result of war the Żuraw was destroyed in 1945 – the wooden part of the construction burnt down and only 60% of the brick part remained.
After the war Żuraw was rebuilt and transferred to the Polish Maritime Museum. Nowadays the inside of the Żuraw is used to organise exhibitions connected with Gdańsk port life.
The shot was taken from Ołowianka and the Gdansk Marina which was recently renewed and renovated, you can walk here or take a ferry to get to the island.
In the nearby granaries there is a part of Maritime Museum which I highly recommend:)))

Hello Gosia ,
I like the way you have composed this picture , with many grounds and interesting elements . Not too light , this day , but very well managed . The diagonal of the pontoon is very effective .

Hi Grosia,
your beloved Gdansk in this photo seems really similar to old Flemish paintings. Only the colors are a bit more intensive here.

Czesc Gosia,
to zdjecie bez watpienia ma potencjal.
Bardzo szkoda ze nie mialas lepszego swiatla. Mogloby byc naprawde urocze. To moze da sie zreszta podkrecic pseudoHDRem.
Sprawia tez troche wrazenie jakby bylo lekko krzywe.
No i pomimo ze niebo ma interesujace elementy -ja jednak scialbym je wraz z masztami, wydaje mi sie troche nadmiar i niewiele wnosi do kompozycji, no ale to rzecz osobista,
