View over Gdansk Photo

Photographer’s Note

To get the best view over Gdansk City Centre, you have to climb (or drive) to the top of Góra Gradowa (46 m)
There are unchanged old fortifications for over 100 years and a 16-metred cross commemorating 1000 years of Gdansk and 2000 years of Christianity. (Milennium Monument)
Now all the forts have been renovated and Centrum Hevelianum was opened for public where you can admire exhibitions and revitalised fortifications.

Hi Gosia,

This is one feature I will have to visit next time. Good composition with the cross well placed on the side. The view seem nice from up here, specially toward the port. Good light and colours. Thanks Gosia.

Hi Gosia,

Are these also the cranes from a few photos ago at the left? I didn't realize Gdansk had so many cranes and pipes and generally pointy objects sticking out of its skyline - very unique. :) Also great idea to show the cross and the skyline in one photo and excellent positioning of the elements.

The wide angle view distorts a bit the image sides, which gives the image more dynamism

Hello Gosia,

A pleasant composition, where the iron cross is the eye-catcher!
The city is merely indicated in the back, but I spots the cranes telling there are shipyards...
Good division land/ sky and strong colours!
