The owners of Zary represented wealthy families such as the Dewins, Pack, Bibersteins and since 1558 till 1765 Promnitz’s family.
On the picture you can see remains of the baroque palace erected between 1705 and 1726 by Ermann II, the most eminent Promnitz. At his court in Zary and Pszczyna between 1704 and 1708 composer Georg Philipp Telemann was band-master. Behind the palace you can see tower of the Dewin - Bieberstein castle, a powerful stronghold from the 13th century, later rebuilt in the Renaissance style. The palace and castle are surrounded by the remains of former geometrically-shaped park containing a garden palace. It’s a pity, that history and people were not favourable for the palace and castle.
