Bernardine church of Leczyca Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Bernardine church (church of Immaculate Conception of Virgin Mary) in the city of Leczyca (Łęczyca). Built between 1636-1643. The early baroque Bernardine Church was consecrated in 1655. It has a XVII century painting of the Immaculate Conception dating back to the XVII century in its main altar and XVIII century carved altars made by Franciszek Etner with baroque pictures of saints. Other interesting features of the interior include a rococo pulpit with a statue of the Archangel and a rococo organ with cherubs playing various musical instruments. The monks were forced to leave the church and the monastery by the Nazis during WWII. They returned there in 1946.

Leczyca, Leczyca, powiadasz, kosciol i to stary, a jak myslalem, ze Leczyca to miasto diabla Boruty. Fajny barokowy kosciol, ladnie go zamknales w kadrze razem z krzyzem.

Dobra kompozycja, dobry POV ze skosu, ladne drzewa po prawej, mozna powiedziec, ze kompozycja opiera sie na tych drzewach, na ich cieniu. Ale z drugiej strony mamy przewracajacy sie krzyz, ktory robi dosc dramatyczny efekt.

Witaj, Łeczyca kojarzy mi sie raczej z diabłem Boruta i Tumem pod Łęczycą a tu mamy taki przyjemny kościół. Co tu duzo mówić, jak jest słońce i niebieskie niebo to wszystko wyglada bardzo atrakcyjnie. Ten krzyz mozna by pewnie troche wyprostować, czy był pochyły?

The church has rather plain exteriors but wonderful design in the frontal facade. Like the framing you did here, with the cross on the left & the tree on the right. The clear blue sky offers a fine cap
