Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist, Torun.

Church of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist, since 1935 Minor Basilica, since 1992 the Cathedral of Toruñ Diocese, former main parish church of Old Town of Toruñ. One of three gothic churches of the town, built from brick, an aisled hall with a monumental west tower. The first church from the 13th century was a small hall without aisles and with polygonal presbytery. This was replaced by aisled hall church in first half of 14th century, which was has been rebuilt many times and extended until it reached its present form at the end of 15th century. Interior is richly decorated and furnished. The earliest painted decorations in the presbytery date back to 14th century and depict the Crucifixion and the Last Judgement. One of the side chapels is connected with Nicolaus Copernicus. There is 13th-century baptismal font, supposedly used for baptizing the astronomer, 16th-century epitaph to him, and 18th-century monument. At the tower hangs Tuba Dei, the 3rd largest bell in Poland, cast in 1500.

Witaj dzisiejszy s±siedzie w Galerii. Piêkny widok na imponujac± toruñsk± katedrê. Jej czerwona bry³a wspaniale kontrastuje z b³êkitnym, pogodnym niebem. Gdy ja ostatnio by³em w Toruniu pada³ uporczywy kapu¶niaczek i by³o dosyæ zimno, w czerwcu!
Doskona³a jako¶æ.

Witaj Krzysztof,
Then kosciol jest rzeczywiscie piekny i bardzo okazaly. Przez to zblizenie mozemy podziwiac jego szczegoly. Jest jednym slowem na czym oko zawiesic. Piekna praca. Gratulacje. Podoba mi sie.

uno stile architettonico gotico, ma molto particolare nella sua struttura imponente e maestosa con la poderosa torre campanaria.
L'immagine è eccellente per nitidezza.
Superba anche la scelta del POV.

A sharp and clear photograph with saturated red. The tiled roof with the proportionate tower show the building as a basilica - wide and ornate. The sharpness of the image is softened with the greenery in the foreground. The composition is well balanced and pleasing to the eye.

The trees are framing well the buildings and the church. The point of view is allowing me to dostinguish the details and colors of the architectur of the church. The good luminosity is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

cześć krzysiu, Imponująco sie prezentuje ten koścół świętych Janów. Dobry kadr i super kolorki. Dawno nie byłam w Toruniu, trzeba by sie wybrac z aparatem :).
