St. James of Torun Photo

Photographer’s Note

Church of St. James in the city of Toruń, New Town Market Place. The gothic building was erected 1309-1424. Its basilica construction (side aisles are lower than the main aisle) is unique among Toruń’s gothic churches. Its construction utilizes supporting arches that transfer the pressure of the roof and ceiling to the supports of side aisles. This church is decorated with numerous pinnacles, blind windows and glazed bricks. The tower is 49 m high, and its double saddle roof comes from the second half of the XV century. The interior was whitewashed in the lutheran period (1557-1667), and partially restored in the 1930s.

A good nicely lit composition that shows off the lovely architecture to best advantage. I like the view of the empty square with just the child on the bicycle. Makes for a very nice ambience. Excellent colours and sharpness. Very pleasing image.

Pretty interesting architecture! Lots of details and so colorful! Good we have the child on a bike and the birds... it gets livelier! Strong light was very well managed! Sharpness is also good! It really pleases me!

The very generous light gives much attraction to this photograph. The immense square, is not empty, the kid and the pigeons form an ideal settlement. Architecture is superb and coloured. A good framing, a beautiful work.

in my feeling, this city looks unbalanced,
but very interesting and joyful shot this is.
a boy on a bicycle and pigeons on the square make these houses change to those in the theme park(sorry...).
perhaps people there are very cheerful, and enjoy their lives.
