Photographer’s Note

The Post-Teutonic Knight Castle in Świecie was erected in the years 1335-1350. The castle, built of brick on a high stone base, was established in the shape of a regular quadrilateral (roughly 50 x 50 m) with four corner turrets and four wings with living quarters to form an internal courtyard. In 1886 it was noticed that the tower, some 34,5 m in height, had a lean of 45 cm to the nort-west. In 2002 a by now quite significant tilt from the perpendicular of 94 cm was verified.
