Photographers Note
I posted a photo of him already some time ago.
But I was really fascinated with his eagerness to present me with this town of his childhood.
Among the other things he showed me the granery which you can see behind him. Huge, high walls of the buildings are a part of immense grainery which served as the city wall in the past. Built over the bank of Vistula river, the chain of graineries is said to be the only one in Europe built for both purposes: to store the grain, and to protect the place from invadors. The white stripe on the very right is simply the river covered with snow.

I start to recognize your portraits :)
Always nice to see the "common" Polish faces you show here.
Great shot Jerzy

Well, I wish I'd known about that place last year, I'd have made a detour. Another fine portrait in contextual setting.

Wyborny portret, znakomita jakość wykionania, osobiście wolałbym mniej prawej ale to Twój wybór.
Podoba się bardzo.
Pozdrawiam, Marek.

PS dostales wiadomosc?

Cool shot Jerzy,
I knew I recognized him. Overall I really like it. One thing I dont is that right side. I would have cropped it. The sky is blown out and it looks a bit like a bad frame. Crop it and you have a super shot.

a very strong photo with those harsh reddish colors! This man does look a nice guy and i am not surprised he would be proud to show you around his town. I like how his arm follow the lines of the staircase ramp.

Looks a bit like Kev...Love that far away look in his eyes. Another striking "mature" bit of ortraiture from you, J - not cute kids here, we have a life lived before our eyes, a lot of depth...
Well done,
Francis

Swietny portret! Wyglada jak jakis derwisz albo czlowiek zyjacy marzeniem. Czerwone cegly w tle dobrze uzupelniaja zdjecie. Nie jestem pewny prawej strony - moze by jednak ciachnac te rzeke?

Jerzy,
A great potrait the textures on the guys face are superb. Great detail. I think the river in snow is a little distracting though.
Cheers

Excellent portrait, Jerzy... his face is so Polish to me, so full of intensity and melancholy... a very nice capture. Beautiful use of dof too. Great, powerful work!

Hej Jerzy. Good portrait, all technically great, with the sharpness, the eyes catching the light, the heavy bokeh looks good with the bricks. Pozdrawiam.

Hello Jerzy
did you really met Robert de Niro ???? (;))
a nice portrait, but the white band on right disturbs me a lot ... a little crop and i think your pic will be stronger ...
Good one

Witaj Jurku,
Tego jegomościa pamietam z wcześniejszej, równie bardzo dobrej fotografii w Twoim folio. Mogę tylko powtórzyć za innymi: świetny portret, bardzo wysoka jakość wykonania, kapitalnie złapany wzrok. Kadr pierwsza klasa.
Pozdrawiam,
Jurek

Great shot Jerzy! The detail captured in the man's face is excellent, a face that has seen many years go by. The lighting in his eyes really makes the shot.

Another good picture of this guy J - I think this one reveals something about his strength and character but also about his expereince of weakness, sadness and pain - it's in many ways quite an emotional picture - the granary edge is an interest - but the eyes have it all.
best wishes kev

Dzien Dobry Jerzy,
When I opened this one the first thing I thought was " Did Jerzy offered his picture to the guide ? " It is so pretty that I believe it must probably be the best he ever received. The wall at the right would be a little empty, but thanks to the double digaonal formed by the balcony and his arm,
this emptiness dosn't really bother.
Many thanks - Izzet
