Photographers Note
February. This is not the best month in this country. But this is the time when winter decides to give way the warmer season, initially very slowly, later on - more rapidly.
People miss the blue sky, clean pavements, dry windows. They leave their houses and do anything they are used to do in the warmer times - just to pretend that the winter is abandoning the place.
Like that old woman who - despite it still being cold, decided to clear the windows.
Spring - please come back!
Spring - please shine over that old town of Grudziadz.

An impressive shot, with beautiful colours, Jerzy, with the decaying walls of this old house and the old lady cleaning the windows. A very East European village feel to it, with those crochetted white curtains, the crumbling walls... and the babushka's headscarf.

PS I haven't had time to get around the shot you've asked for but will send it shortly I hope

Bonjour Jerzy. It's really a great photo!
I especially enjoy the kind of "washed out" colours and the grain which makes me think about the collage we made at the Art course - We cut some coloured pictures out of newspapers and magazines and we could made a print after sprenkling thinner allover the image, then you got a mirrored impression but it had the same effect as your photo, I just loved that technique [of course I'm speaking about the late sixties... :o)]
I also like the way you lightned the windows in a way they almost look like B&W against the bright orange/yellowish wall.
The only thing I would have changed is maybe cropping the upper part and begin the framing in the yellow upper part of the wall...
Anyway, congratulations, because it's a very enjoyable image!

Hi Jerzy,
Nice shot with very beautiful colors
Cloudy days are a good moment to take pictures in a soft light, without shadows and contrasted colors.
Nice work,

Czesc Jerzy,
Rzeczywiscie ludzie chca troche chyba przyspieszyc nadejscie wiosny i stad podejmuja sie karkolomnych czasem prac, jak mycie szyb w mrozna pogode... Wszystkim nam juz sie chyba znudzila ta aura, no chyba tylko ci co jezdza na nartach licza jeszcze na swiezy snieg. Fajne kolory i scena. Tez ostatnio troche jezdzilem po Polsce mniej odwiedzanej i znanej, szczegolnie zachodniej. Wkrotce cos wrzuce. pozdr. maki

The ability to give life to buildings is in e vidence again here, Jerzy, and the wman seems incrusted in the scene, as it were, aprt of the house - the colors/tones add to that effect.
Excellent, evocative note, too!
Very nice work,
Francis

Hi Jerzy,
Thanks very much for your modern concept and nicely taken pictures with complementary and eye catch view of life in culture and also daily result. As you know I'm a Landscape man blended with Sea and Earth. But I also try some different and take other pictures by moment and intuition. So I like the way you took this picture and also the way you have this resulting quality composition. Very well seen, done and a excelent PP work with this nice sharpness and light-color definition. My last is a different one post of me at TE but I have others pictures with this way. It's my modest approach and is dedicated to you and other nice TE Member that is JINJU. Thanks to you and both for your nice and friendly approach with your LENS View, that you can see my dedicated post to you here: Link
Congratulations and thanks for your creative work and sharing.

Interesujaca scena, starsza kobieta w ocieplaczu i kapciach, do tego wilgoć na ścianie jak podejrzewam. Miejsce zapomniane, nawet tabliczka od gazu ledwo wisi. Pozdrawiam.

Witaj Jurku,
Bardzo konkretnie, jasno i zarazem pięknie pokazałeś pragnienia starego człowieka pośród realiów otaczajacej go rzeczywistości.
Pozdrawiam,
Jurek

Hi Jerzy,
These street scenes you often produce are like vignettes from a book. And somehow you find the right lighting to shine on some old building and person to expose a rich pallette of colour - and often scars - that lie under the gray leaden skies of winter. The textures enthrall here - the street, the curb, the scarred wall. Superb work, Jerzy. I love it.

A well-seen moment from the old town, Jerzy. In addition to the judicious framing with the 3+2 windows and the old lady in between, I like the vivid and colorful textural detail present in the façade and pavement.

Hi Jerzy,
last winter was really cold here and often went below freezing!! I know, big deal but I bet you have a lot more sunshine and warmer days than we do.
This is fantastic. Just look how the cold blue/grey textures rising up from the ground and separate the colours and textures of the image. Its like the photograph has been split into black and white and colour.
I love straight on photography. It confronts what is going on, where as take it from the side is the soft option.
Thanks for your critiques again today.
Regards,
Mark
