Dedicate for Gunnar (saxoo42)
Vang stave church (Świątynia Wang, also Vang stavkirke, is a stave church which was bought by the Prussian King and transferred from Vang in Norway and re-erected in 1842 in Brückenberg near Krummhübel in Germany, now Karpacz in the Karkonosze mountains of Poland.
The church is a four-post single-nave stave church originally built around 1200 in the parish of Vang in the Valdres region of Norway.
In 1832 the local council decided to pull down the stave church because it was too small and had become structurally unsafe over the years. The plans for its demolition and replacement were known already in 1826, when the painter Johan Christian Dahl made the first attempt to save it. He urged the council to repair and extend it.
There was also an attempt to have it re-erected at Heensåsen in the same parish as an annex church. Knut Nordsveen, a local farmer, offered to donate the building site to the community, but his offer was rejected. Disappointed by the rebuff, he later sold his farm and emigrated to America. In 1932 a monument was erected in memory of him.

Hello Krzysztof,
A fine night time capture of this lovely looking church. I like the framing from the contrasting green hedge. The exposure is well controlled with good rendering of the tones and excellent detail.

Hi Krzysztof och many thanks for the kind dedication!
This is really a very good picture, doing full justice to this Norwegian church. A very interesting fate, to be moved from Valdres in Norway to another country, far away. Talk about real enthusiasts!
But the stone belfry here, could not be original Norwegian, or?
Your decision to take this picture in the dark with just those floodlights was certainly very wise. This creates a very special mood. A superb photo!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Pozdrawiam.

Hello Krzysztof,
A very interesting story: a church bought in Norway and brought to and re-erected in Poland !
I have seen some stave churches in Norway and this one looks very big.
Beautiful presentation with the light on the vegetation on the FG and specially on the church and its white bell tower contrasting with the black sky.
Best regards, Paul

witaj, dziś to całkiem co innego. Ciekawie to wyszło. Dziwna jest ta przednia ściana, całkiem gładka. Troche wygląda jakby była zrobiona ze sklejki. Kolorki odjazdowe. Bardzo lubie ten kościół klepkowy.
A przez Vang przejezdżałam.
Pozdrawiam

Witak Krzysztof,
Congratulations for this very good managment of light. The church arise very well in the image and in the black BG. The green barrier in the FG give a plesant grpahic effect and a great depht to the image.
Have a good day,
Roger

Czesc,
Karpacz odwiedziles. Bylem tam chyba 30 lat temu. Wang pamietam. Dobra nocna fotografia, dedykacja dla Gunnara pasuje, wszak budowla trafila do nas ze Skandynawii.

Czesc,
Normalnie nie lubie czarnego nieba ale tu masz bardzo fajny efekt. Kosciol jest troche dziwacznie oswietlony i dosyc interesujaco to wyglada. Szkoda ze go jednak oswietlili troche nierownomiernie.
Pozdrowienia

Czesc Krzysztof,

Pozdrawiam
Jacek
