Photographer’s Note
This is the shot I decided to start the 'Ksiaz Castle' series from; you can see the roof is not perfect, owners of the castle (originally built in the 13th century) - the city of Walbrzych - in not capable to overhaul it thoroughly; the castle history is quite complicated: many times modernized, many owners, the most unusual is its latest history: during WW2 Germans started a serious modernization - construction of a system of mysterious underground corridors and production halls... but it was never completed!
so, half of the castle is now in an acceptable condition, while the other half is maintained in a shape it was given in the 40-ties of the last century - both are open for public;
important: Ksiaz is the 3rd biggest castle in Poland!
