Photographer's Note

Klodzko is a small town located in the Klodzko Valley on the mountain river Nysa Klodzka. One of the characteristic monuments of the town is the Gothic St. John's Bridge called the Prague Charles Bridge in miniature. The exact date of construction of the first bridge is not known, probably 1281. Its Baroque figures were added in the 17th century and made the resemblance with Prague's Charles Bridge perfect.
There is also a legend that the neighboring villages were obliged to supply eggs because the egg whites were mixed with mortar of the bridge.
The bridge survived many floods, including the biggest flood in the 20th century, in 1997.
