Photographer's Note
When the Duchy Swidnica-Jawor authorities took over the Duke Bolko II, created a powerful empire, which during his reign, he strengthened the many castles. In his time, probably about 1355 years, the was built Chojnik Castle. On the rocky summit from the south sloping vertical wall was a stone fortress, although the small size of their position is extremely difficult to obtain.
The castle was built of stone. After the death of Bolek II, his widow gave the Duchess Agnes gave Castle in 1392 later ancestors the powerful Silesian family - Gotsche Schoff’s. The castle remained with a short break in the hands of the family Schaffgotsch the end of its existence. During the Hussite Wars, knights - robbers of the family Schaffgotsch, with support in the inaccessible fortress, plundered merchants who follow trade route and the local population.
When I was beheaded in 1634 by Jan Ulrich von Schaffgotsch's, the castle was confiscated by the emperor, but in 1649 it returned to its former owners. They moved here not his permanent seat. August 31, 1675 when the castle was burned from a lightning strike has not been taken up reconstruction. Abandoned castle fell into disrepair.
1822 years created here willingly visited by tourists - spa guests shelter, which operates to this day. Legend has it that there lived a princess Cunegonde, the daughter of the owner of the castle. It was a whim that the candidate for her husband, traveled on horseback in full armor castle walls. Long time no one has succeeded, and the successive heroes died falling off a cliff. Once I arrived at the castle knight from Cracow, who made this risky feat, but when enchanted princess gave him her hand - has rejected her efforts and drove off. Humiliated and unwanted girl threw herself into the abyss of the walls, which were falling heroes sent by her to death. To this day, apparently you can see the spirit of one of the knights on horseback who rides the castle walls on moonlit nights.

Old scan to an old castle, well taken from lower perspective and the entrance sees as a mystery door, Joseph.
Nice take with fine vivid colors.

Jozef,
This is a nicely composed shot! The vertical format works well emphasizing the height of the scene. The green leaves divide the shot nicely. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness.
