Ruins of Krzyztopor Photo

Photographer’s Note

Krzyztopor is a castle in the village of Ujazd, between Sandomierz and Opatów. Krzyztopor (krzyz=cross, topor=battle-axe) was originally built in 1627-1644 by the nobleman Krzysztof Ossolinski. It was reduced to ruin during the Swedish invasion of Poland in 1770. The castle Krzyztopor was prominently featured in novel "Poland" (1981) by James Michener.

Impressive ruins and architecture. In a way, this shot almost looks like a painting...especially the clouds. Nice light and colours. Interesting note and good perspective.

Niezle te ruiny, pobudzaja wyobraznie, ciekawe czy nie krecono tu jakichs filmow historycznych. Skan sie pewnie przelezal w szufladzie, chemia popracowala i cos pokrecila w kolorkach, ale w sumie efekt kolorystyczny calkiem intrugujacy wyszedl.

ciao jan,
anche se frutto di una scansione la vista di insieme è buona e si riesce a immaginare cosa poteva essere il castello prima di cadere in rovina.
Colori accesi e buona saturazione.
