Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken in my hometown of Bialystok just about an hour after Pope John Paul II's death. People gathered spontaneously in front of the cathedral where his monument stands and started to pray. Police were directing the traffic away. I am not a religious person but I consider this photo as a witness to important moment in the history of Poland. Today is 4 years to that day. Taken with a point and shoot, without tripod.
