Photographer's Note

Kalwaria Paclawska is situated in the picturesque landscape of the eastern Carpathian Foothills, 25 km southeast of Przemysl. The region is overtopped by the towers of a church, dedicated to the Feast of Finding of the Holy Cross, and of a Franciscan monastery.
The Baroque church was built in 1770-1775 by Szczepan Dwernicki, the cup-bearer of Przemysl. In the aisle altar there is the Miracuolus Picture of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Kalwaria, originally of Kamieniec Podolski. It portrays the Mother of God as a Queen resting on clouds and holding a sceptre in the right hand and the Infant Jesus on her left arm.
