Bell of Warsaw Photo

Photographer’s Note

Kanonia Square in the Old Town of Warsaw. The bell (1646) in the middle of the square should be hanging in the bell tower, but unfortunately it cracked before being hanged and somebody left it at this spot a couple of hundred years ago.

It is scan (from negative).

simple but steady composition here. You have captured it with nice light and colours. Depth is good here. The bell is superb. Probably you need a few people which provides us the dimension of the bell visually. Anyway great composing and presentation.

Amazing bit of history!
Still, it makes an interesting ornament!

It certainly dominates the f/g, with its sharp form and striking shape (no pun intended) and your pov allows the diamond shaped stone to lead in nicely. The dull hues of the bell contrast nicely against the brightness of the b/g houses.

Hello Jan,

The POV very well selected and the excellent use of the clock in the FG give a very well balalncde image with a great depht and a very plesant propsect to the coloured edifice and flowers in the BG. Superb work of scan too.
