I took my camera for a walk yesterday. It was sunny day in Warsaw with many events. This was the parade of different dance schools.
Behind the girls you can see the Church of St. Joseph of the Visitationists commonly known as the Visitationist Church situated at Krakowskie Przedmieście. it is one of the most notable rococo churches in Poland's capital, its construction was begun in 1664 and completed in 1761. The church's main claim to fame, in Polish eyes, is that Fryderyk Chopin used to play the church organ here, mainly during services for school children.

Hello Malgo - I imagine that the energetic-looking dancers are dancing to something other than Chopin! A fabulously festive scene packed with energy and very good detail. I love the way the drummer and main dancer seem to be smiling just for you. Looking at the larger upload it feels as if I am there enjoying a relaxing and entertaining day out. Super! Warm regards Rosemary

An image with a lovely lively atmosphere. The church in the background makes a fine backdrop for the dancers in their colourful costumes. Great street photography.

non conoscevo i tipici costumi polacchi, ma forse sono proprio della zona di Varsavia, non pensavo che le temperature permettersero questo vestiario ;-)
Una foto molto allegra e colorata, esattamente il contrario rispetto al post precedente.

this is wonderful! Stunning color and clarity, perfect light and exposure, beautifully sharp and detailed. The smiles are awesome and I like the bit of movement blur in the dancer's hands. It looks like it was a fabulous day to be out with your camera, too. What a gorgeous sky! Many thanks and warmest wishes,

A fabulous composition full of sympathy and joy, with that group of pretty girls and sculptural, their mini dresses are very showy, scene contrasts sharply with the facade of the church in the background, all those people makes the image very vital.
Magnificent lighting and sharpness very good to recreate the image.
Well done. I love it.
Have a good evening.

with the baroque catholic church, fresh light and joyous faces under peacock attire, this one could also be from rio! however the nice blondies call for somewhere in europe...
the last photo i would expect to see from warsaw :))

Yes, it does look like the people are having fun! Great action shot with good details and wonderful colors especially the costumes those women are wearing. Well done, tfs.

You had a perfect front row viewpoint for seeing this event! Fun action. Good contact with the dancer. Lots of colours and classic architecture background.
We also have Samba parade here in Tampere every August, but I missed that this year.

How nice to see some typical Polish traditional folk dances :-). They do bring colours and action to the shot and I'm sure the title is completely correct. It's fun to watch this photo, including the large crowd of spectators and the stylish church. The light and colours are really superb.
By the way: when you mention that this church (or any building in Warsaw) was built so and so long ago, does it mean that this is the authentic church, or was every thing rebuilt after the war? Or did the total destruction hit only hit a relatively small part of the city?

Takie radosne tancerki a tymczasem lato powoli dobiega konca... No coz trzeba sie cieszyc chwila.
Mistrzostwo to polaczenie ladnych kobiet z architektura - coz nie kazdy potrafi tak wybrac miejsce pleneru

I expected to see Brazil as the site of this one, Malgo, but instead I see... Poland?! A very surprising scene but also a bright and welcome one. Perfectly captured - the movement is clear even if frozen, and you got the expressions on the performer's faces really clearly. Thanks!

Les danses folkloriques polonaises ont bien changé -) Un moment fun et coloré que tu as bien mis en image.

church? there's a church in this photo? where? I don't see any church!
funny photo for sure, one I wouldn't really expect to see from Warsaw :)
the red flare of color really grabs my attention first, and actually, the man on the left in the green pants is pretty funny too - he looks a little TOO happy dont' you think? :)
lots to look at and enjoy here.
a surprising scene, good catch!
willperrett (4025) 2013-08-28 9:20
Thank you for pointing out what was behind the girls. I don't think I'd have noticed otherwise! Great colourful image, and not what I would have expected from Warsaw...
photoray (6622) 2013-08-28 14:09
Even though I am a fan of historical architecture, the attractive dancers are my main draw in your multiple view image.
And a deserving note about Chopin performing here, one of the very famous romantic composers and performers.
Congratulations on a good job,
mkamionka (27031) 2013-08-29 4:46
bardzo atrakcyjna fotografia. Warszawa pokazana w zupelnie niespodziewanym swietle. Swietnie udalo Ci sie polaczyc architekture w oddali z wydarzeniem kulturalnym na pierwszym planie. Piekne kolory. Zdjecie natychmiast przypomnialo mi galerie Takero. Ciekawe czy w Polsce daloby sie zrobic tyle reportazy z festiwali co w Japonii.
mirosu (7998) 2013-08-29 5:41
Brilliant colourful photo. I like dancing action and the beautiful dancers with nice smiling faces. What a lively scene. The light and clarity is superb. Well done. Greetings, Miro

Hi dear Malgo
Wow this is a Sumba Carnival, right? I should be there.
Please tell me next yera's schedule. Thier pose and expressions are so vivid and fantastic.
Thanks a lot and have a good weekend! Takero

Rio comes to Warsaw! And after a long cold winter, rugged up in 5 to 7 layers of clothing, why not enjoy the all too brief summer? Good daily life scene with the colorful feather headdresses adding a lot to the shot and the pretty girls help too, of course! Tfs!
serp2000 (33043) 2013-09-03 11:40
It looks like a next Takero's festival photo from Japan.
I see he likes this scene too. )) Good expression and perfect colors! Funny moment indeed!
clic (12465) 2013-09-04 12:23
Pardon my coarseness; I prefer the extravaganza of foregroung to church!!
Splendid eye-catchers indeed!
