Photographer's Note

Bobrowiec - mountain range on the Polish-Slovak border, rising above the Chocholowska Valley, Juraniowa Valley and Bobrowiecka Orawska Valley in the Western Tatras. It is located in the north part of the ridge Voloviec. The peak also called Bobrowiec, reaches a height of 1,663 m

Bobrowiec has had, like many other places in the Tatras, past mining. In the western slopes of the years 1808-1850 there were two iron ore mines: zakopanian Mine; Bobrowiec and oravian mine Jambor. Taking-down of ore taken was two ways to Bobrowiecka Pass, one of the Chocholowska Valley, the second of the Bobrowiecka Valley. Top name comes from the town of Bobrov in the Orava region. Top was also a long time for sheep pasture. Already documents from 1615 mention Bobrowiec as a pasture, and 1796 as the top.
