Photographer's Note

This photo shows the remains of the biggest of the 3 WWII concentration camps. The third and smallest camp was completely destroyed. This one was almost flattened to the ground, although it's layout is visible from the portions of walls still standing. First Polish political deportees arrived here in 1940. Mass murders started here around 1942. We had a very good guide showing us through the camps and the more one hears the story, the harder it is to comprehend.

I decided to keep the photo in color, but applied a blue photo filter in photoshop to enhance the cold mood.
