Photographer's Note
To people in Poland, I'm sure this is a scene that they may have captured themselves many times or at least seen photos of it many times. From a tourist standpoint like myself, i couldn't resist getting a photo of these classic Old Town walls, colors, and textures.
As you walk the meandering streets of Old Town, there are numerous photo opportunities such as this one. I could easily spend then next month posting similar photos on TE from this area but I wouldn't want to bore you :)
In the mean time I hope you enjoy this one.
Cheers

Hi Craig,
Took a quick break at work, checking the main gallery tab and this one instantly caught my eye...awesome! The colors, the textures, the wide composition,it's fantastic. More than anything, I love the old town sections of just about any city. There's so much character and wonderful, real life action and charm which you've captured magnificently. Thanks for sharing this one, and don't hesitate to post the many others you've taken.
Cheers,
Jason

Ciao Craig
Ciao e buona serata

Hi Craig,
so you´ve found also this one:)I´m glad, because the street is really picturesque, isn´t it?Not so long, narrow, but very colorful and differing from other streets in Old town.I like the way you composed and framed the scene. The juxtaposition of two different coloured houses is eye-catching.

Hello Craig,
The two houses are very attractive, full of fine details. I also love that archway with its buttresses. The alleyway seems to go on and on, with a fine central line.
For me, though, I really would love to see more down that interesting alley. The arch is calling, with its wonderful beckoning shapes.
I have done a little w/s.
I hope you are not offended by me altering your shot. I don't often do w/s as I am very aware that they are the property of the photographer.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Craig,
The most obvious part of this picture would be the combination of the colours. I think Bev has a point here, by cropping the picture and bring these colours closer together. This is still a very interesting view and attractive buildings.
Kind regards

Hi Craig - I think this is your first shot from Warsaw, right? Starting out with a really colorful detail here. Warsaw doesn't often get mentioned as a must-see Old Town by European standards, but this shows it has some chops in that department. I like the residential arches over the cobblestone streets and the odd rocks in plaster on the supports there - any sense of their purpose? A shame there's the out of place tin pipe there, but it divides the photo nicely providing a border between orange and blue. Thanks!

Hello Craig,
very nice picture of this old architecture wonderfully executed which thios corner has a special mood. I really like it. Tfs. I think I will not post any more picture in te, because they removed my fourth pic in the row. The reason is:
-Unacceptable Note. I'm getting tired of it.

Tous les photographes craquent devant ces façades colorées! Ton cadrage est très intéressant et donne une belle vision de cette rue. Faut-il ou non redresser les verticales....je ne sais pas trop, le débat est ouvert!

Hi Craig,
I do enjoy this. The colors and textures look fab against each other. And they look so perfect and bright that it gives the impression that it's a fresh painting styled this way.
One more great architecural shot of yours.

Hello Craig,
HDR to the fore here I think and very good use you have made of it. The shot is well composed making good use of the pair of arches to give the image depth. Superb saturated colours and excellent rendering of the textures in the old walls.

Hi Craig
One thing I found when travelling to the cities of France and Italy was that there was an old part of the town and a new part. I loved the old parts, which had lots in common with this photo of yours, and spent most of my time wondering around them. They have such a wonderful sense of character and history, just as your photo here does. So it would be impossible to bore me, no matter how many photos like this you posted. I detect a heavier than usual hand in the HDR here, one that's probably warranted given the uneven sources of light and shade here. It also brings out the wonderful textures and architectural details. So nic work.
Happy weekend
Lisa
PS: I'm really enjoying the running discussion on the guns issue with Andrew - and I wholeheartedly agree with you. Love ya work!

Bonjour, cher Graig,
Cette suite de passages sous couvert est joliment présentée.
Ah ! si les pierres pouvaient parler !
Les contreforts au pied du passage dénotent une poussée particulière.
J'aime beaucoup ce voyage dans le passé.
Amitiés.

Hello Craig,
Warsaw one of the cities that most has suffered during WAR II.
First the Germans, second the Russian army.
You found one of the most old places of Warsaw with the wall in different colors.
Excellent perspective and depth image with both arches in depth.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hi Craig !!
I saw this photo during the week and today I came back looking for it as I find it very special..... we in the West do not get to see sights like this.......... so you are welcome to show some more.
Love the contrasting colours, textures and the supports to the lateral walls.Of course the narrow lane takes your eyes for another feast in the background.
have a nice Sunday

Hello Craig
A good take which uses the 'power' of the wide lens well. I don't think I could even think about this composition with the lens I have...not that I could have thought about this way of composing...The more I look at this picture the more I am intrigues..so simple yet so elegant! The colour combination is excellent..pastel yellow & blue while the windows above the arched passage is equally interesting
Cheers!
