Nowica (additional name in the Lemko language; Нoвиця) - a village in Poland located in the Malopolska province, in the district of Gorlice, in the municipality of Ústí Gorlickie.

The settlement is located in the Beskid, by the stream Przyslup, pouring into the lagoon Klimkówka. Above the village is dominated by massive Magura Malastowska. Nowica already existed at the beginning of the sixteenth century, in the estate family of Gladysz. The village is preserved many old Lemko chat and Greek - Catholic Church of St. Paraskeva, where Masses are celebrated in the Greek Catholic rite. This orthodox church was built in 1843. Inside is an iconostasis from the eighteenth century, and polychrome from 1927.
In Nowicy there is also a chapel Greek - Catholic Our Lady of the Assumption, where every year on August 28th indulgence is collecting Lemkos from near and far. Near the chapel is a plaque Bohdan Ihor Antonych (1909-1937), Ukrainian poet, who was born in Nowica. Next to the monument is the old rectory Greek - Catholic, which in 2004 was transferred by Metropolitan Greek - Catholic Archbishop John Martyniak to the brotherhood young Greek - Catholic "Sarepta".

In Nowica and the neighboring village of Przyslup, the population of objects article dealt with the wood, this tradition has survived to this day in some homes you can buy a wooden spoon.
