Photographer's Note
The main photo was made last year in Lublin, I only tried to make it looking old. it is the part of the Old Town. It is my experiment and a joke.
The very old photo is here I couldn't post it as the main one as it violates some rules of TOS, and the rules are so important!
On the old photo is my father. He was born in Lublin in April 1910, so the photo is approximately 100 years old. So it will be oldest photo on TE! I think it is quite interesting how the kids looked like in that time and how the photos were made. I wonder how will be our digital photos after hundred years. But I will not see it..

Old or not, the mood is there, as for the future, don't think any camera will be needed or in use and, I still hope we will live well to that day...,for the time is approaching swiftly, better be prepered for it.
Enjoy the old photograph of your father, some forty plus years ago I looked very similar, just in dark hair.
Lublin, alike Zamosc or Lwow belonged at that time to the top class cities in the country.

Hi Malgo,
What a wonderful street scene, made even more characterful by your conversion to sepia. The lines on the roadway and the buildings lead the eye very nicely into the picture with excellent lighting and tones. The exposure and detail are excellent too.
Of course you would have been forbidden to place your workshop picture as a main picture here, but it is a lovely photograph (again of excellent quality) and a lovely memory for you to keep.
The oldest photograph here which I took myself is this one from 1963. I know Gunnar has posted pictures older than this. But I'm sure I have some old photographs of my grandparents in the loft - pergaps I might post them sometime too!
Fabulous!
Kindest Regards,
John.

Bonjour Malgorzata,
J'aime beaucoup l'effet que tu as donné à cette image qui semble dater de la fin du siècle de ce quartier qui semble vidé de ses habitants.

Alleis in lublin really looks the same as a century ago, Malgo, did not change at all.
I have photos made in the 19th century in Poland, by my parrents ancestors - and yet I dare not post. Also from the Lublin area ( Zolynia, Rudnik, Tarnow and more).
This one in sepia has an old grace made on town's edifices.
Sincerely
Ike

Hi Malgo,
An interesting workshop picture and a very well composed old/new main picture. The are many curved lines that interact perfectly into a very intricate and balanced composition. Obviously you were lucky to capture this scene without any cars.
Kind regards
Gunnar

A beautiful photo, timeless and superbly post-processed in sepia. You have composed it very carefully with great effect. I love the POV and the sharpness. A truly beautiful photo, congratulations.
A lovely photo of your father, what a great tribute to him. He must be so proud of his daughter too. I can see where you got your blonde beauty from too!

Hello Malgo.
How wonderful image to sepia toning with this, it could be a picture of 1912, as the charming image of WS. excellent work, the prospect of this street from the arch curve is a superb POV.
Happy start of the journey. See you.
Best regards.
Luis.

Hi Malgo
what can i say...well done.
with this tall arches, 9 out of 10 people would photograph them standing far back to include the entire arch...but here, you have the arch cut, i really like that.
its a totally different look.
my other favorite part are the buildings on the left sided wall, they are so sharp.
excellent shot!
cheers

Hello Malgorzata,
Exactly today, April 12, my father would have been 107 years old. I guess it would be possible to post an even older workshop than yours.
But there's no need for that. This photo really does look old enought. With the sepia treatment, the old buidings and nothing modern to disturb the view it could have been taken 100 years ago.
Well done.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Malgo,
I like the sepia treatment of this image and the arch that frames the street scene. It gives a wonderful 'old' feeling. I enjoyed your WS and your note. A super contribution to TE.
Best wishes, Ann
