Photographer’s Note
Lomen Stave Church was built in the second half of the 12th century, and you will find it in the community of Lomen in Vestre Slidre municipality.
The day I visited the church was a very cloudy day with short but hard showers, all giving this darkening sky - very appropriate in some way.
The church was rebuilt in 1779, and I found it very interesting to find Christian faith mixed with Nordic mythology here - a way to "christianize" the wild north.
By the way Lomen is worth a visit if you comes around.
Here is a view to the opposite side just down the hill from the stave church.

Hi Jan,
I like very much the image of this lovely wooden church. Very good composition and a fine use of the narrow path to get a better perspective and DOF and, at the same time, to lead the eye directly to the subject. Nice light on the roof of the church, good sharpness and good note too. Excellent photo work.
Regards,
JR

Very nice composition. Your perspective gives the viewer the feeling that they are small and ruled over by the church - probably also the idea of the people who built the church.
I'm glad you mentioned your Norway collection, because I'd somehow not seen them. Hope you had a good holiday! Sure looks like it.
Cheers,
Kate
