The Doomsday Monolith

After the death of Viking king Augvald, they put up 5 monoliths on his grave. And later when Haakon Haakonsen build the stone church, he left one of the monoliths standing. This monolith is called Saint Marys Needle. The legend says that the day the monolith touches the church wall the Doomsday will come. The stone is creeping ever closer, and is now only 9,2 cm from the wall. It is known that the priests have chopped of the tip of the stone several times to prevent the Doomsday comming. Legend also says that the famouse Yygdrasil or the Tree of Life and knowlege originated from this area.

I have been here myself, and this truly is an exotic place even for me.
I really like the Angle you have used here, very sharp overall focus.
Pity about the overexposed sky though.

It is great to get a history brush-up!
Interesting story about the Monolith, maybe I'd like a workshop close-up to show the distance in detail...
Otherwise it is my impression the priests are looking forward to dooms day but maybe those guys are sinners as the rest of us?
Good point of view and fine details, but the sky is not the best...
