[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Reine, located in the Lofoten Islands is a dramatic place. The mountain peaks rise sharply 150km above the Arctic Circle off the coast of Norway.

This picture was part of a background of another picture. While looking over the raw files I noticed the symmetry of this part of the shot and cropped it. Sorry it is not that sharp, the mountains were about 15 km from where I was standing.

The picture was brought into Lab Mode and the Lightness channel was adjusted for exposure then sharpened using the Unsharpen Mask. The colors are unaltered. This shot is composed of two pictures stitched using Photomerge.

Hi Roger!

Great picture from the Lofoten, and what makes it even more interesting is the fact that it's different from the classic view of Reine.

I personally am very interested by the fact that you used photomerge. I have tried several times, but I never was able to realize a composed picture where you don't see the difference either in the color or in the exposure.

You managed this perfectly well! What's the secret?

Regards
Markus

Dès que je regarde la photo mon oeil s'en va centre droit . Belle sortie d'image. Les proportions des montagnes ,eau et ciel bien cadré Super .. Réal.

hi! really nice panorama of beautifull place

P.s. how to add bigger version ?
thanks a lot

Hi Roger, you're quite right. A shot seen and done at the place is much better than seeing it on the monitor and "making" it happen with PP. Your cropping to get this composition is certainly quite good and appealing. The weather altough not the best conferes a nice dramatic enhancement.
Regards, Peter

Hello Roger,
An attractive scenery, where the varied light adds life!
The mixed weather is typical, with blue skies and foggy low clouds in the same frame...
The wide format is working well showing this rugged piece of nature!
Greetings,
Pablo -

This may sound really nerdybut it is this exact scene that Imagined a scene from one of the Harry Potter books.

In the 5th book Hagrid talks about visiting Giants that live in the mountians of northen Europe. This special is exactally what I had in mind.

Thanks for the Deja Vu, it's a brilliant photo.

Andrew
