I'm sending a greeting to all our Norwegian members on TE on your national day. I know that our two peoples are constantly at each other's throats, I tend to think of it as sisterly love. :)
These kids have just been walking through downtown Oslo in the annual parade of school children all the way up to the royal castle, where they have been greeted by members of the royal family. Being head of state is a strenuous activity on May 17th, as they'll spend hours on the balcony waving to all the children marching by. A lot of people wear the traditional garments known as bunad, the designs differing from the various provinces, and they are very expensive to have made up.
I really miss the time spent in Oslo and you certainly know how to throw a national day's party. Big hugs to our brothers and sisters in the west!

Well...we aren't exactly on eachothers throats, but I know we aren't always the best of friends... We proparbly need to get over old grudges soon...
17th of May... I've seen the parades for the last 23 years, but not this year. I had to do a job in Germany, so arriving home late only gave me the joy of putting out the flag.
This is an interesting approach. I've never really tried a photo on the 17th, but this low POV approach works well.
Maybe slightly overexposed, but I know it was hard today. I tried doing some shots at 24000 feet and the shutter barely was fast enough.
So, all thumbs up to you. Good photo.
