| I wonder if I would still be able to take this picture in 2007. Is she still there, this man whom I met in 1986? or, more exactly, what about his descendants? Are they still living there? Does their traditional way of life still exist? This old man was the elder in a nomadic family living with their flock of reindeers. |

Hi Daniel,
wonderful picture. I like the mood and the look. This was nearly 20 years ago... don't think that she lives there anymore, she probably moved from there... but it's surely nice to immagine that she still lives there. I was in the Norway 10 years ago and the nomadic families lived by the roads making a living from selling souvenirs, but in the same type of "house".
Have a nice day,
Tomi
Daniel,
This is a very good photo. It is nice to see that some of the nomadic inhabitants were still there in ‘86; hopefully that way of life has not disappeared.
TFS,
Asa

A great shot for composition and very cold looking atmoshere. A bit under exposed for the subject and maybe a little more contrast but a great documentry image.
Simon
Good shot, and definitely a long time ago.
By the way, the term you use "Lapps" is not concidered correct today. The people call themselves Sami today. To me it seems that this is not a woman! The traditional outfit is a male outfit. ( I am not Sami, but come from the same region of Norway)
I think the photo must have been shot in northern Troms, in Lyngen. And the traditional outfit, is, I believe from Kautokeino, in the neighboring department, Finnmark.
