This house is one of the many that have been assembled at the Sunnmore Museum in Alesund Norway. I just wish the weather could have been better on this day, I would liked to have had a nice blue sky in this shot. The Sunnmøre Museum is situated just outside the center of Ålesund and has an open air museum with 50 old buildings in a beautiful nature park, a comprehensive collection of boats as well as a Middle Ages museum.

Asa,

beautiful antiquity .. striking and unusual .. wonderful reflection .. lush greens .. actually the sky I would wish for it is dark and foreboding.

take care

John

Greetings Asa.
It is a nice perspective from which you took your shot. The reflectio ns are nice and it is an interesting subject, especially with the grass on the roof. Maybe you would like the shot more if you converted to B&W? You should give it a try, these types of lighting conditions really lend themselves to the B&W format.
Regards,
Chris.

Hello Asa,

Hi Asa,
I love the lush green colors especially the earten roofs above these old structures with the rocks shown reflection in the clear stream.

Hello Asa,
love this typica little houses mostly made of wood, it's very nice to see this rooftop covered by green, the partial reflections on water and the natural scenery surrounding it.
Cheers.

Many times the minor attractions and more detailed view is as appealing as anything else asa. As here this little house from the Folk museum is well captured and presents an important window back in time from our country.

Hello Asa,
Thank you for posting such a romantic scene with history. I have a lake house but maybe with not as much history as this one. Very nice compostiion!

Take care,

Hi Asa,

You took a cruise to Norway like me. I haven’t visited Alesund but I saw a few houses like this. I like the grass growing in the roof. Very good POV, framing, colors and reflections.

Hi Asa,

It's amazing how many different styles in which a building can be constructed. I've seen many on my travels but can't remember one supported in this way. It's a lovely building and, in terms of the roofing material, so reminiscent of the type I saw in the Faroe Islands a few years ago. I've put it to WS to see what Christopher's suggestion of a B&W conversion would look like, this doesn't detract from the original which I think is a fine capture.

Regards

Stephen

Hola Asa,
me gusta esta foto, la casa es muy singular por su diseño y por estar construída casi encima del río.
Buen encuadre y excelente color y definición.
Saludos cordiales

Hello Asa,
Did you know that the sod roofing system is coming back?
Lately I have seen a few houses under construction with this kind of roof, while they did it back then to get a reliable roof at low cost I'm afraid the expenses today are sky high...
You capture fine details in this building, good point of view!
Greetings,
Pablo -
