Photographer’s Note

Sunset in my place usually isn’t much… I guess the reason is this time of year it never gets really dark, and the change of light happens slowly, slowly… Besides, spectacular sunsets are often also partly a result of high air pollution!

Well, this is what it looked like the other day… quite tame or what..?!

I will continue my “Streets of Røros” series next, just throwing in this on impulse!

Now I have to disagree here.....
I like the simplicity, the emptiness and the moon sailing in the wide open sky.
I think there is a dust spot in the sky bottom middle that I would clone out, but I like the photo.

Wow! not tame at all in my opinion. The atmosphere makes me wish I could sit there in the evening watching the slow sunset. Lovely vibrant colours and you made a great simple composition.

I really like the way you've framed this compo with the sharply detailed sunset angled across one corner, the pink clouds seemly growing out of the hillside and the big blue sky with a sliver of moon. How nice to have such clear air that you don't have much sunset color; my husband calls them ethyl-colored skies.

A really beautifull minimalist composition. I usually check out what's wrong with the one point and just found out that there was two more (0) points!!!! There isn't too much sky! This is a magnificent original shot with marvellous colours. The moon, the pink clouds and the dark sillouette - I love it!

Very nice this composition. The reflections of light and colour on the clouds and the moon are so charming. Good diagonal line of the slope with the neat silhouette of the trees.

So simple in composition, but very well balanced, Pablo.
Very nicely composed, with a use of empty space that makes me think of the way it's used in Japanese art and Zen caligraphy. In other words, the space seems to have a lkfe of its own.

PS. I purposely didn't read the other critiques before writing the above. Looking at them now, I agree that the dust spot needs to be cloned out. I was so thrilled with the composition that I didn't even notice it!

about your note, i think this is a normal event for norwegian people (in north specially), but intersting for me. i read in a book that Norway meaning is "a way to North" (north way) is this right?

Another minimalist beauty with stunning appeal! I don't agree with those who said there is too much sky. On the contrary, I think it is an important part of this image! From the silhouetted hill, the eyes look upward to the moon, and the sky. This is the way I view it photographically, and because I am also an amateur astronomer. This is a moment we cherish as stargazers because the sky looks like it will be very crisp. The colors, and soft light on the clouds gives the image a great mood. Interesting point of vue, I like the huge place sky is taken in this picture... details like the pink clouds and the moon add are very important and make sense for the picture.

Hi Pablo. I love the minimalist composition of the spectacular image. Although simple in its composition there is fine detail in the moon and the brush on the hill. The only blemish is the sensor dust spot just above the center cloud which is quite at odds with the fine graduation across the sky. A beautiful image just the same. Thanks for sharing.
