Photographer’s Note
Tis is a very old cathedral located in Stavanger, Norway. I can't remember the name, but it was built in the 1200's.

great picture richard, the quality is good, the angle you took the picture is nice, it give a feeling that the building is really high, the sky makes the picture look mysterious, well done!

The angle and cropping are fine and sharpness is excellent, the textures and details of the stonework is rendered very cleary. The details are also brought out very well by the soft and almost shadowless light which is so typical for an overcast grey sky, so I'm rather puzzled to see what appears to be a very clear blue sky with fluffy white summer-clouds photographed through an orange filter up there, especially since the little triangular piece of sky beneath the cornice in the right side of the photo is glaring white?? I agree, the sky makes the picture look mysterious.

Beautiful composition and what a dramatic sky that really add to the dramatic mood of the place.
Stavanger Cathedral was named St Svithun (other spelling may apply) after an English Bishop of Winchester (around 850's).
If started, in 1125, in English Roman style it became Gothic by the time it was finished.

Très belle prise de vue de cette cathédrale de style gothique. Le B&W est parfaitement choisi pour mettre en valeur les sculptures et les détails d'une partie de la façade. Très bien, Richard.
Very beautiful catch of sight of this cathedral of Gothic style. The B&W is perfectly selected to emphasize the sculptures and the details of a part of the frontage. Very well, Richard.

Very good angle. The BW and the sky bring a dramatic mood. It reminds me of an old movie on Notre Dame de Paris cathedral. A very artistic composition.

C`est ce que l`on appelle "avoir du caractère".
Prise de vue qui rend bien la majestuosité de cette oeuvre.

Great shot Richard! this angle is really good and B&W is great since it brings great details on the cathedral and creates an "old" mood. Nice job!
