Photographer’s Note

This is an early summer day in a mountain area in Central Norway… Spring was late this year, and the colours of nature are still marked by the winter… Near by this place there are still some remains of snow.

The small river we see here is a part of a line of hydroelectric power plants, with the negative effects on the nature that implies. All together the system is consisting of five dams, and during the times of the year when the reservoirs are filled up some of the rivers in between are almost dried out. In addition to the visual damage this also have devastating effect for the fish in the rivers…

During the latter years the public opposition to further development of hydroelectricity has put pressure on politicians, and nowadays only a very few projects like this one from the 1960ties are carried out in Norway.

hello Pablo,
very peaceful scene, the negative effects of the powerplants are not all that visible-this place looks quiet and unspoiled, probably thanks to a well chosen POV.
The two rocks add extra focus to the capture. The tiny ripples on the water make the reflections add interesting movement.

Great landscape. The stones in the foreground add a lot and it was good to have the top of the treeline at the top of the frame. It looks like a nice place to visit.

Devant un tel paysage, Pablo, on comprend que l'aménagement des cours d'eau pour produire de l'électricité ne soit pas du goût de ceux qui aiment la nature. J'aime ces reflets bien mis en valeur par les deux grosses pierres du premier plan. A la grandeur des feuilles on voit que c'est le début du printemps.

Nice serene scenery...reflections are good in muted light. But what attracts me most are the two stones on the river, which reflects the reducing depth of the water. Very nice!

Lovely peaceful river view with warm colors and fine detail.
Very interesting note how modern technology can reach deep into the wilderness. The Adirondack Mountains near my home suffer from acid rain where you will fine a beautiful wilderness lake that is dead due it's fragil nature and acid that kills all the fish.

The wind has caused just enough ripples in the water to make the picture more interesting. You've composed it beautifully and framed it in a complementary manner, not at all detracting from the placid scene.

Olá Pablo, I couldn't tell if this is a short stream. I still see a lot of water, although the current seems almost inexistent... The composition is beautiful, with the reflections and a well managed foreground.
