Photographer’s Note
Makalausfjellet can be translated to something like The outstanding Mountain The mountain itself is nothing special, alt. 1099 meter, the summit to be reached within an hours hike. But of course there is often some reference to a name like this:
There was a long time ago a woman farmer who owned several summer farms up here in this little valley. And people said that should she also take over the summer farm on the foot of this mountain she would be an outstanding woman – and of course the mountain was named Makalausfjellet accordingly.
From this summit one have a fine view to the distant higher mountains still covered in snow. The white sign is a geometrical marker used i.e. for identification on aerial photos of the region.

Hej Jack :-)
Nice shot and an amazing landscape. It looks like a dry Switzerland. But it is far more than that.
Norway has really its mood and charm.
Thx for sharing.

That's what I call "depth". Nice, wide and sharp view you show us here. I like the two elements in front that give balance and life to the image. Impressive sky to top off the cake. Well done, well worth the hike!

It looks like a painting, Jack. The arity of colors is amazing, and so is the depth of the landscape. It is a very special one. Especially I like the sherical rock up there.

Well, this is of course a landscape very much to my liking, Jack. Good inclusion of the summit marker and the big boulder as foreground interests behind which the deep view across the scenery unfolds, all the way back to the range. Nice light breaking through the layer of fluffy clouds.

Hello Jack
I like the juxtapositioning, & warm cold opposition, between the yellow lichen encrusted rocks, & the polarised blue sky. Well done!

Hi Jack,
Nice scnery you choose for thiese mountains, nice cloudy sky.
The only think I would have change is to include only one foreground subject, or at least not at the same distance; the fact one is going higher than the horizont helps here, that's true.

Cher Jack,

Hi Jack, I like the grand view from the top of the mountain. An interesting inclusion of the geometrical marker and the balancing act stone on the side. The colorful moss covered stone remind me some high elevation places. Nice DOF to have an excellent view to the distance mountains. Well done.

Hi Jack,
This place is for my a moon landscape, but than in Norway, the two elements as the clouds and in the background, on the foreground the lovely rocks!
Best regards,
John.

Hi Jack, There is something dramatic, almost threatening to this picture. It must be the darkness on the valley and the cloudy sky. The big rock in the foreground apparently about to roll down adds some surrealism to the picture.
