Photographer's Note

This is another picture from our recent trip on the Hurtigruten into the polar waters of Northern Norway. Having spent some time exploring the town on foot we returned to the ship and watched activity on the dock from the deck. Whatever time of day or night the Hurtigruten ships very efficiently dock, unload, load and cast off on time. Time in dock can vary between 15 minutes and several hours. Further information regarding the 'coastal express' can be found in my previous posts.

Hammerfest claims to be the most northernmost town in the world although there are smaller settlements further north.
