This was my second posted night shot from Bergen and was shot during a walk with my father. As some of you may have seen, he has posted some from the same walk. There was for once nice weather these days, so we took the chance and got two days of blue hour-shots of Bryggen. We chose to use one day on each side of Vågen (The bay seen in front). This was taken during the second day, at the other side of Vågen. I tried with several exposures and found the right one at last. This was not my first shot from this POV and with these buildings filling the picture. The other one is posted at TE, but was shot just before sunset.
Just a thought that came to my mind right now. Only three cities on about the size of Bergen are located further north. Anchorage, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk. Of these, only Arkhangelsk has a larger metropolitan population than Bergen. But, the two Russian cities are declining while Bergen and Anchorage are both growing rapidly. So kind of legitimate to say that Bergen is one of the northernmost large cities in the world Just a thought that came to my mind, because I think this image shows some of the northerly charm that you don't find much further south.
This is my first ever re-post here on TE. The reason for making this re-post is that I wasn't very satisfied with the post-processing I did back when I uploaded the original if any at all. I first discovered this when stalking my own photo with a google image search. Several other sites used the image (be careful with your own...) and some of them had did some post-processing for the better. They did not have the original file though, so it was not of the highest resolution. But they inspired me to see what I could do with it, and this is what I came up with after slightly straighten it, sharpen a little and making it a bit brighter.

This makes a beautiful image. The architecture and the angle you have cpatured it at is beautiful, with great depth affored by the corner of the building on far left. The road leading up into the hills beyond enhances this even more. Looks like a wonderful city, thanks for sharing

In Bergen the Bryggen is a unique feature that is able to please photographers at any time of the day and standing at any POV. It's a marvellous line of buildings. In this photo it is also nteresting to see the other buildings climbing the hillside. The lights of course give this area a very special atmosphere. Regarding the difference between this version and the original I guess it's a matter of personal taste, as is shown in the ws by Emilius, which brings the picture back to very close to the original.

Lovely harbour view against steeply rising forest background. It must be hard to get balance between dark trees and street illumination. On this case it lead to some overexposure on those light but never mind.
I was about to visit Bergen in the end of August. Found a good flight deal, but unfortunately found out that all hotels were fully booked that time.
