This is the famous Trollstigen (the Troll Ladder) near Åndalsnes.
This lady doesn´t look particularly comfortable on this observation deck, several hundred metres above the road and the roaring water.
If I could give her some advice here, it would be: "wear a red T-shirt next time"!

Wouaa; this is an impressive perspective. You found a nice POV to illustrate the relief.

You made a very clever composition. Instead of leaning out of the fence, you included the fence, and the lady.
The result is very interesting and original. When I was there it was soo foggy I could barely see the road !

I'm scared. This is really impressive view.
Amazing photo with proper title.

Une bonne prise en hauteur de ce paysage avec les routes en lacets. On sent que la dame n'est pas rassurée.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

It's certainly the lady, even in her pale blue clothes, that makes this picture. Her posture indicates fear of the height, and the contrast between her and the ground far below makes the viewer feel the same vertigo. The straight zigzag-lines of the railing also contrast nicely to the rounded zigzagging of the road.

The inclusion of the lady tourist is a very good idea. She enhances the mood of the situation and gives a great sense of depth. A really rather fascinating landscape well presented in this fine composition.

Good morning Gunnar,
You call it vertigo ?
Than take a look to this one http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=1147135
I made it on the top of the famous Byzantine cathedral Hagia Sophia in İstanbul. Climbing up to an height of 56 + m's through a vibrating steel scaffold !
The gesture (holding the edge of the glass wall) alone says so much !! Good job done my friend
TFS and best regards
Anyhow this shot remembered me to this unforgetable date of my life.

Hi Gunnar. The view from the top of the tiny winding is something special. Only flying is better. A truly amazing photo. Best regards, Wolfgang.

le point de vue est superbe avec cette dame qui se tient bien au garde-fou tout en contemplant la route en lacet qui serpente devant elle, très bonne photo.

Great! Great in each respect. The composition here simply is perfect and it transmits this feeling of vertigo in an impressive way and it shows a very good depth - in a double sense. This lady in red - why not !? ;-)
Greetings from a grey and rainy Siegen! Nothing new!

Transparent surfaces inspire less safety than the bars:) It is an excellent framing and an elevated point of view which give a good outline at the same time the observant one and spectacular landscape. Good colors, excellent clearness on all the plans. Cheer.
Have a nice day

A vertiginous view of the tortuous road, snaking around the valley, & down the side of the mountain. Good sharpness & framing. Tfs!

effectivement impressionnante cette vue et vertigineuse, un endroit qui a édéjà été exposé sur TE et on le comprend.
Un excellent rendu de la hauteur.

This is an absurd scene in a funny way. I mean the platform and landscape below don't seem to be connected in any way. And the mountain road could as well be a picture glued to the wall. Deep DoF of the compact camera emphasizes that impression.
rodgerg (55767) 2009-11-27 5:06
Excellent shot Gunnar with a very impressive athmospher. Excellent POV with the turistwoman and the large landscape. details of this landscape well collected. The incurving way give a very nice graphic effect.

Yes, you really have the impression that the lady is not very confortable, but if you have vertigo you should not look down here. Excellent composition and high POV. Funny comment about the red T-shirt. TFS and have nice weekend!

I can understand her fear of heights, it's really high up. Hopefully she didn`t lost her glasses :) Unfortunately I have not been to Trollstigen yet, but I have been in Rogaland where they have a similar place. Really impressive ! I like the way you have included this woman in the photo, it provides a great reference point and an excellent overall impression. Colors & sharpness are both very fine as always.

For a long time I haven't seen such a TALKING shot from Trollstigen, tells its own story:)

unusual POV and view in BG. Great landscape. Amazing ribbon of road. I like it. Well done photo.
emka (73365) 2009-11-29 22:04
Hi Gunnar, haha, I like your advice to the lady:)). I can understand her feelings, I was on Trollstigen because I did not know how it is. But there were many campers on the road and we had to go very slowly, so somehow I durvivede and even made some photos.
