Sunrise over Snowy Mountain Photo

Photographer’s Note

The situation this morning, as the sun is about to rise over the freshly fallen snow…

This summit we see is around 1000 m and the snow will most likely disappear in a few days, but still! This is the winter’s first warning, saying I’m just around the corner…

By the way, this is the worst autumn I can remember for ages, weather wise. Today temperature is 4 C with an annoying Eastern wind, probably coming from somewhere in Siberia!

Hi Pablo,

The sunrise is giving nice colors to the sky, to the snow and a set of shadows to the forest. The point of view takes our eyes toward the top of the mountains which is giving depth to the composition. A mountains scenery is giving a tranquillity effect. have a nice day.

You have snow already!!? We have had an Indian Summer with an exceptional September. Only now is autumn feeling its way in.
The subtle sunrise colours are beautiful and make a surprising contrast with the snow.

nice view of the minimalis landscape, simple colors and shapes.
here we can feel how the winters are becoming hotter (this year was something hard), there are so many storms and a mix of droughts and floods. Frosts were more usual when I was a boy, nowadays this isn't so frequent.

this delicate pink and orange colors in the sky are touching,
and white snow on the mountain looks so quiet,
those two layers are well contrasted with lower dark foot of mountain.
the pale shining sky at sunrise time shows us, always beginning of the nice day and refreshing mind of the nature.

Hi Pablo,
What a lovely sky; the bright cloud layers are nicely grounded by the snowy mountain. It's snowing like crazy here now and we're working to get all of our fall projects completed. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow so it will probably melt before I get pictures. I should have taken them yesterday when the light was wonderful but I was task oriented. Now I'm sorry.

Splendid pink and blue sky seen above this mountain that is treeless at the top.
Early for snow but not unusual at this elevation.
I was in the Adirondacks Mountains of NY state last week and they had a bit of snow too.

That's a strange sunrise e.g. the FG is strange not the sunrise itself. I have seen a lot of snow when I was younger, but such a scenery I have never seen. It's strange but adds a special flavor to your photograph, it makes it outstanding. In particular the contrasts are very bold. Well done

It seems that winter is in a great hurry there in Norway ! Brautiful combination of white, snow-covered hills and pink sky, impressive light... But personally I think I prefer a more classical autumn-I'm not a great winter fan.

Hi Pablo,
Very beautiful warm sunset color contrasting with the ice cold of the snow capped mountain. Minimalist composition, I like the openess of the area, it feel free and uncluttered. Though I feel it need a little point of interest to anchor our vision, like a larger tree or a house or something to draw our attention. Beautiful color and light regardless.

Hi, Pablo. You've found very nice pastel colours in the sky. They contrast well with the snow, just as the dark trees do in the bottom of the image. I like the three very different parts you have in your picture which illustrate the composition in thirds very well.

looks like Norway is the country where you can just stand on the same place, turn around and take loads of interesting picturesque landscape shots! I surely must visit Norway one day!
I like this combination of colours - the warm bright flames of the sky and the cold snowy land with mountains... there's nothing around but Nature with all its pure colours.

A sunrise which resembles a northern light almost !!! Pretty the constraste with the snow-covered tops. For the moment with regard to the cold here in Versailles, I do not feel it yet… The temperatures are rather soft for the moment… Interesting for the savings in electricity !!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful sunrise. The colours and the contrasts between the wood, snowy mountain and the skies are so nice. I like the composition were the lines of of the red-coloured skies are following the lines of the trees in the lower part of the picture.

Hello Pablo, It also feels like winter in Melbourne at the moment, several weeks ago the temp was 30C but the last week or so it has been approx 16C, I suppose I should not be complaining, relatively warm when compared with yours. Nice sunrise with beautifully coloured sky.
