Autumn Mountain I Photo

Photographer’s Note

I’m afraid autumn will be a bit reduced this year..!

Unfortunately the hard wind we’ve had for the last couple of weeks was bringing down the leaves before they got properly coloured. So this year I have to look for autumn colours somewhere else…

But of course it is not only the trees that are affected by the season, most of the vegetation is. I bring you this mountain scene to show how autumn is visible also above the tree line!

It is hunting season now, which means there is some danger related to moving around in mountains and forests in particular. And this is not only in cartoons, last Saturday a 44 years old guy was shot and killed in an area where I have taken many images for TE.

Hi, Pablo. There is a very nice range of tones in your image, from green to ochre. The picture shows very well how the higher places are already affected by autumn while the lower areas still keep a little green.

In my state if a hunter is caught he will go to the jail, it is prohibited to kill animals here

Autumn colours arrive a bit later here in the UK, but like you, the success of the season in terms of colour depends on the wind. I love the light on this scene which emphasisies the golden colours we can see.

Your realise that the autumn has arrivedin the Nordic countries. The composition here is quite simple but the lighting makes the scene really beautiful. In particular I like how make use of that some trees in the foreground is shaded by clouds. An excellent photo-job. TFS and have a nice evening!

Hi Pablo,
There are several strong bands of different colours across this picture. The sunshine helps a lot to bring up all the colours. The background here is particularly attractive, with the pastel coloured trees just below the tree limit, and then up on the bare mountain side with light brown. I guess there will be snow quite soon now.

Hi Pablo. I have been out taking in the new spring growth and you have your autumn! It sounds like our autumn this year was the opposite to your autumn, very still with the leaves hanging around for weeks. Nice catch, I like the layered composition giving good depth. Beautiful autumn scene, I like the majestic mountains with the indecided sky over them and the mixed forest-the evergreen fir-trees, the other trees, yellow-dressed by the season. The sun gives us some feeble last rays, much more appreciated than the torid heat of summer. It seems that it is really autumn in Norway. Here in Romania, a lot of trees have their green leaves yet, but they begin to turn yellow.

Your mountain presents a taste of autumn with a nice range of color. I'm noticing the same loss of fall leaves.

Here, hunting season starts this weekend, up until now only bow hunting has been allowed. A good reason to stay out of the woods these days.

I'm affraid too, double earthquarkes at South East Asia happened yesterday, our planet is angry with us maybe. Going to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival at this Sunday, but northern countries just look like in early autumn. Interesting composition to show the dense pines clumps, but sad to hear a man was killed, thanks for sharing.

What I like is how the light hits and illuminates the patch of trees which have those bright autumn colours. A fine colour contrast between the green in the FG and the autumn colours on the mountain slope in the BG. It's sad to note about the hunting accident you mentioned

Hello Pablo, Sounds like it will much safer indoors at least until the hunting season is over. Interesting to see the difference in colour between the two levels, it look like autumn is well settled in the higher region.
