Photographer’s Note
Taken from the 7th floor of my office building. I work on the other side of my office building, so I never get to see these magnificent sunsets...not that I am at the office at 7pm that often anyway, but I happened to be yesterday. 3x optical zoom. No editing, only sharpening, because I wasn't sure what to do. I suppose I should have cropped the lower left corner.
To my critics:
Yes, I would haveloved to include more water, but that would mean including more buildings and such.

Wow, I wouldn't mind having an office there.
I agree with you about cropping and sharpening. My first impression after being awed by the beautiful colors was that this is really sharp. Which I think it has to be, would just look washed out with a soft horizon. I think the composition is just right too, you could of course go the other way around and just include a little sky and have more water or go panoramic, but I think this really works well.

Great colors in fact. The contrast is nice, with almost black mountains.

I hardly imagine that there is a 7 (or more) floors building in this landscape!...Wonderful colors.

A very pleasant office outlook, even if it is 7pm. I may have been tempted to include more water and less sky, if that was an option. As it stands its a beautiful shot, magic colours. As an alternative to cropping out the bottom left corner, you could have cloned in Photoshop. This would have OK for such a minor detail. I have done a small worshop to show the result. Thanks for sharing.

Bravo,
La lumière dans le nord est vraiment très belle !
Je préfère toutefois le recadrage de sandpiper

That's an incredable shot, Jan, by deep coloring reds to dark blues in the sky. A perfect counterlighted gabarit of mountains pulling the eye to the depht where sky is touching water, outcentered in favour of dynamics. Excellent !

Lovely colors and I like the distribution between sky and water here. Molde is a very special town. Is my memory ok if I guess that the land on the right is Midsund?

Hei Jan
Fint å se noen flere norske her etterhvert, selv om du jo har vært med noen måneder.
Effektfull, nærmest grafisk fremstilling av solnedgangen. Flott balansert lys og farge, fin plassering av horisonten, veldig bra.

A bold image with super strong colours and a simple composition. It all works marvellously. I love it. The only thing I can add would be to remove that distracting bush in the bottom left.
Adam.

Marvelous capture of the evening. the mountain's shape in this bright orange around, human eyes are gifted to enjoy such picture. Shades of colors came out awesome. a small branch peeping into the frame in bottom left isn't that distracting.
