Hi Pablo,
A very original photo from a good POV. All the bikestands look very nice from here, also with some nice shadows. I also like the slight reflections that can be seen in the wall. The little bit of red was a nice addition to all the grey/silver tones. Very well done!

Hello Pablo,
This just jumped of the screen at me and I have to reason why.
It is first the composition! Then the eyes are drawn round via the line of seats to that one, eye-catching spot of colour. After that, there is time to take in the lovely shadows, both on the wall, and on the floor!
Interesting notes.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Pablo,
Incredible movement and rhythm here. The pov and the reflection have greatly amplified this and it is very pleasing to the eyes. I also like how you relate this to the competition and the slate industry. A thought provoking shot!!

Hi Pablo,
The reflection of the bike stands on the slate wall is an asset to the composition. The subject is well framed. The light brings out the colors of the slate. Was there a cost difference between the slate and the marble ? Have a nice day.

Hi Pablo,
pleasant high technical quality in that graphical impression. The "bow" is well placed in the capture and the good contrasts help to enjoy this. The final red is a good add-on together with the reflection in the marble.

Hi Pablo. A deceptively simple shot which grows on one the more one looks at it. The metal shapes are like some choreographed dance. The shadows on the wall are subtle and explain the "empty" space on the left. The contrasting red is a nice touch. I am surprised to see a sheen on the slate as I did not know that it can be polished to that extent. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Pablo, With a slate quarry so near I can understand the argument for it's use. Nice detailed shot but it's the bike stands that make this shot & the interesting shadows it casts on the marble wall. The little bit of red is a nice addition as is the reflections on the wall.
Well done
Thanks

A unusual picture than usual, but I find the double shadows or reflections very nice.

It is a simple, graphic composition but also eye-catching and effective. Both the shadows and reflections are an integral part of the image, but it is the way the perspective carries the eye directly to the splash of red that is the winner. I can't decide if it would be better cropped from the left and the bottom. Anyway good shot

Hi Pablo, again I've learned something in your post. So why was the Opera House made of marble? The slate looks good to me, and when it's a local resource you would think there would be a very strong push to use the slate. Anyway, this looks good, I like the line of bike racks, and I like the reflection on the slate wall. The inclusion of the red doors is good too. You've gone from a basic black and white with the slate and bike racks to colour with the inclusion of these bright doors.
Thanks, John

Hi, Pablo. The image has good graphic qualitites with the geometrical patterns of the skate and the repetition of the bike stands. The red door in the background brings a good contrast with the darker colours of the rest of the image. I wonder if a framing closer to the stands and higher on the slate wall would have worked too.

Hi Pablo,
I like simplicity and the minimalist composition but with great force. The monochrome tonalities only broken by the detail of red color print personality to the image.
The mixture of geometries converges in a graphical effect of great quality.
Different, creative and innovating, bravo!!

Hei Pablo,
A really fine bike stand photo with very attractive lines and curves. Also an interesting note. However, I do not know if your picture gives an indication of what the Operahuset in Oslo would look like with slate. Probably more dull since replacing white marble with grey slate would give a totally different impression. What do you think yourself? Otherwise I really enjoy that you have posted a very original picture and that you tell us an interesting story. Many thanks and have fine week-end!

Interesting note about the choice of surface material for the new opera. Slate would probably have looked better in the long run, beside the fact that the white marble makes you literally snow-blind in clear sunshine...

Symmetry is a wonderful thing, but too much symmetry is not as interesting as a little symmetry-breaking. Here you've presented the vacant bicycle stands with perfect asymmetry, and the more or less monochromatic image is highlighted by the red doors on the right. I like this image very much!
