This lifesaver is a common sight along Norwegian shores as there are more than 26.000 of them, located where people get in touch with the water be it in harbours like here or beaches for recreational purposes. There are records telling the buoys have been involved in saving more that 1000 lives during their 54 years history.

This is the harbour of Trondheim, where I like to roam around looking at the different vessels and the activities going on. But most of the boats are for leisure use, as trucks cover most of the transportation needs nowadays…

Behind the mountains in a distance is the Atlantic Ocean… beyond that is… Canada!

The story continues in the workshops, showing different harbour scenes!

Hi Pablo,

A nice scenery of the harbour of Trondheim, of the mountain in the background and the lifesaver in the foreground which is an eye catcher. The point of view is giving depth to the photo. It is getting a good luminosity which brings out the colors. Well done, have a nice day.

Hi Pablo,
A minimalism and nice symbolic image, it is so clear written.
The layers we can see here add also a great depth.

HeJ Pablo
You going from the most Norwegian of all elements the "fjell" to the second "sjøen" the yellow iron make a valuble color component in the picture otherwise a true blue fresh image.
Anders

Very nice blue colors here. For the life buoy, I remember seeing many of them during my different stops in several harbours around the Baltic in 2005, and there were always in good conditions, which made me think that thefts and vandalizings were less frequent in this region.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Hi Pablo,
great water diagonal crossing the image, is an excellent POV that emphasizes the great volume and force of the blue ones and moved waters.
Excellent clearness in the image and great depth, right until arriving at mountains from snow-covered tops, is brilliant !
The fantastic brightness of the colors, mainly of blue of the water and the sky prints a special enchantment to the photography, and in first plane and emphasizing: the great floater! Subtle and intelligent detail.

Un saludo, Jordi

Hello Pablo
La Norvège est un pays d'eau et c'est vrai que la présence de ces bouées m'avait marqué.
Une belle réalisation avec ce rouge et ce blanc qui vient bien se démarqué sur le bleu de l'eau.
Du bon travail!!

Hola Pablo.
Good composition with the lifesaver as the focal point, great perspective and depth with the empty harbor and the mountains in the background, colors are vivid and clarity is excellent. Good note.
Well done.

Hello Pablo,

Swimming in such waterways could be dangerous, they should restrictions by law and make safety to people. I must say the water does look tempting, looks clean and fresh.

Hi Pablo,
a familiar view as being born and grown up in a harbour city at the North Sea. I like the simple and eye-catching composition with the diagonal lines and the colour contrasts which helps to locate the main subject of the life saver. Excellent sharpness and clarity and I think a bit of the smell is included in all those three.

Olá Pablo, also a very diferent one from your countryside landscapes. A refreshing blue one with the life saver as a protagonist, imposing its presence and making a nice color contrast. It's for sure the one I like more from the 3, for its simplicity, mountains seen in the distance and great quality, as usual, although I like the impact of the yellow elements in WS2.

Bonjour, mon ami Pablo,
Merci, Pablo, pour les différentes prises de vue de ce port. La bouée est un élément important souvent oublié dans nos contrées.
Les images sont belles et présentent toujours un intérêt manifeste.

Hi Pablo,
Possibly a lifesaver might not be enough to save one in these waters ... the cold waters might do more damage. Good off center positioning of the lifesaver in the image. Good image and color quality ... depth and contrast is also good. Well composed! tfs and have a nice weekend.

Hi Pablo,
Your three scenes give a good sense of the peaceful simplicity of this lovely harbor. In this one, the life bouy makes a good focal point and the snow on the mountains outlines the sky. The clarity of the gradient in the sky is also beautiful and I like the graphic way you orient us by saying, "...beyond that is Canada."
The bright yellow cleats make the focal point in the second and in the third, I particularly like classic wooden boats.

Hello Pablo,

Simple but interesting. Lifesavers can be very useful for people like me because of my low swimming skills. Interesting note with good information regarding the use of these devices. The image is clear, with nice colours and the subject well placed on the foreground. A pretty wide view of the water. Thanks Pablo.

Hi Pablo,
this is a composition simple and well organized, I like the lifeguard in FG with its red and white colors, that adds a nice contrast with the blue ones of the sea and of the sky.
Good opened angle in the setting, and excellent quality and depth field.

Hello Pablo

The off centred buoy is well positioned and allowing us to see the harbour and mountains providing a nice BG, separated by the intense blue water. Light, colors and textures are fine too.

I just wonder - is it the French or the Russian or sobody else that you salute along your coasts, hehe;-) Anyway, blue-white-red acts very appealing to many nations all over the world - there are so many flags with that colors.

I also like the two parallel slightly diag lines - proving the old rule that there's only one parallel line that can be drown through a point:-)

Hi Pablo, this is a good story. When you see something like a lifesaver next to the water, you don't normally give it a second thought. To save 1000 lives over 54 years though is pretty significant. The shot's a good one, showing off the life preserver well against that great blue background. I appreciated your workshop shots, especially #1. I guess I am partial to harbour shots. Great colour and detail in all of them.

Thanks, John

Hei Pablo,
