Photographer's Note

The autumn of 2011 started with storm in the middle of September that brought down most of the leaves, and ended with a heavy storm last weekend that brought us some serious snow!

In between we had a great autumn, for instance November 2011 was the warmest for over a century.

The present image was taken on my last mountain trip for the season, even in this altitude the temperature was better than many summer days.

The juniper adds some fresh green to the scenery, otherwise nature is ready for winter. However the red tree is really standing out, seems like it was better able to keep the foliage during the storm. They are few and far between but they really stood out in nature this day…

And I don’t even know what kind of tree it is! Anyone for help?
