Snowy Easter Photo

Photographer’s Note

Easter weekend came with loads of fresh snow, and on Sunday the sky cleared resulting in sunshine from bright blue sky the days after…

Very inviting for photography, and opportunity was taken! Even if fresh snow under light conditions like this is a challenge that calls for exposure manipulation...

This is the view from my kitchen window, captured as I was waiting for my morning coffee to get ready!

La neige est encore bien présente et te permet de nous proposer un joli cliché. Tu as une belle vue lorsque tu ouvres les volets. Elle est prise de telle façon que l'on a l'impression de voir la neige en transparence.

Hello Pablo. Fresh snow is sometimes hard to capture because is so reflective. You did a very good job with the exposure. The shape of the snow mound and the snow lingering on the small branches look great. Nice days :-)

wonderful textures on the snow, never seen that before in a capture. Easter here was warm (it is still warm) so snow now is strange. The light and shadows in yours are really great.

Nice texture of the snow, I agree with you about the difficulty in getting the right exposure in snows but you have done a good job here. Does it snow this late in Norway or is it the changing weather pattern?

Hello Pablo,
With snow this thick, clearing it from your doorstep must be a chore. From where I currently live, we don't get snow this thick. But farmers in the highlands always say that snow looks good initially but the novelty runs out fast after a week when inconveniences starts to creep. However, I like winter ... in fact I like all seasons. It is such a joy to see the different scenery ... big difference from Philippines where the scenery is pretty the same all year round.
In this photo, I see a hint of color ... could it be hint of the sun rays? Well balanced lighting and very good clarity. Well done.

What a different weather, snow during the Easter days now more than 25 degree Celsius.
The curve of the snow around the roof are very nice, also the a few red colour make this picture very attractive. TFS.

You show us a lot of fascinating elements of snow in this picture. The virginal white, the soft blue shadows, the yellow and orange of incoming light. And that all in a very attractive almost abstract composition. Must be rewarded as favorite, I think.

A great close-up of this landscape covered of a great mantle of snow, with a very interesting light that offers us a few beautiful shades.
Great sharpness, seems that we could touch the snow with our hands across the screen of the PC.
On Sunday of Easter and with a splendid weather, while in Spain the weather was rainy and cold, without the Sun that so much we love the Mediterranean ones.

Olá Pablo, I don't see this kind of images in my country, but I love to see them, when I'm going to sky. This kind of light over the virgin snow is absolutely beautiful and you superbly captured it. Very good close composition and lovely textures at right. Great shot.

Hi, Pablo. This very much looks like spring snow and is very grainy, which gives a nice texture to it. The foreground has got a very nice shape with that sort of wave. I also like the light and shades in your photo.

A first rate winter scene, photographed on April 8. My "April Snow" image, shot just the day before with a dusting of snow becomes a joke next to this image. The perspective with the diagonal structure, the light and shadows, the colors and definition are all first rate.

This is such a refreshing shot, wonderfully clean and crisp - I love the surface of the fresh snow which glitters, and the simple composition is most attractive.

Yes and we were lucky that it snowed, sothat when we came to the Lofoten Island there was still some snow left on the mountains.
Lovely picture Pablo; although for me Easter is best enjoyed without snow. But having sun makes up for that I suppose.
