Good light on the ice, it seems hot in Norway...

Hallo Pablo!
That's what I need! Outside we have 28°C, a cloudless sky - and a holiday ... ;-)
Your picture was taken in a wonderful light which emphasizes the greatness of this "stalactites" in a good way. I think here they wouldn't survive the day ... ;-)
Greetings from Germany!

Hello Pablo,
For TE your photo, ws and explanation comprise an excellent package. Unusual heat spell isn't it for this early in June. Although yesterday was superb tomorrow is suppose to bring 35°C in this area (around Washington DC). I agree with your explanation of when icefalls are created, severe cold preserves them. Take a look at my ancient photo, Minus 40.
"Warm regards,"

Hi Pablo,
Spring at it's best. Beautiful well exposed wall of ice. Nice bluish colour too. In Finland these often are yellow of brown due to peat content in water.

Hello Pablo,
Thanks for the ice and the advice on shooting icefalls. It is really hot in Hungary these days too. It was good to cool down a bit.
The photo is great, the sunshine is almost as strong as in summer, however the sgóhadows show that the sun is low, not overhead as in summer.

Love it, Pablo. These natural sculpures made out of ice are amazing and you made a great shot here. Excellent close-up composition in a clear and sharp image. Beautiful light, indeed, with no overexposure at sight, which is a pretty easy thing to get in these white sceneries. The branches make a good contrast and it's nice to see a bit of the sky at top right, for some context. The WS is very funny. Good to you. That's the temperature that my wife would like to have allways!! :)))

Hi Pablo,
Well you certainly chose the right angle to fulter the light through the ice; the color and detail is great!! It also looks like that angle does put youat some risk.
I can see why you live in Norway, Angsho reports the temp in Delhi is 44 and you're hating 29!! I'm with you!! I claim that people from Ocean Beach are the weather wimps of the world, we whine when the temp is below 18 and we whine when the temperature is above 24!! HLJ & cooler weather, Pat

Hi Pablo,
Your composition is simple, with an element as protagonist, the impressive frozen waterfall, with its icicles and the sheens that the light of the Sun creates on its surface.
Very good definition that allows us to see all the details and the textures, in a splendid realization.
Best regards,

Hi Pablo,
A very clear picture of this ice formations!
It's very good the way you show us the contrast and differences between the snow and ice, they're both white, but like you mention it's a matter of light reflections.
I like so much the wide compostion made to present this portion of the ice formations.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.

Hi Pablo, that's funny posting this shot because of your present temperature. Where I am right now I'd be thrilled to have 29 degrees. It's getting cool here now at night. We're never happy eh?
This shot is very good. I've always liked ice shots. There's a place near where I live in Canada with a similar look. Someday I'll have to get a shot similar to this. With warmer days in the winter the water flows (a little bit) and you get these fantastic formations. Well seen and shot on your part.

Hi Pablo. Good to see you again after I was off for a few months. What is it about us? When it's winter we long for summer and visa versa. Impressive. As you say the exposure is critical and watch out for the ice falling ;). Tend to use RAW and convert after.
BB.

Hi Pablo,
Again one of Your unbelievable images. After getting 220 points I'm afraid I can't say anything really new about the photo. Except that I'm wondered if the guy whom I lent my stupid nickname from, Hermann Maier, would be able to ski down from this icewall. :)
Friendly regards, László

Hi Pablo. What an incredible shot! Beautiful handling of light falling on ice streaks. Your advice on the concluding para of your note is educative with a bit of forewarning. Enjoyed. Regards.
