MAIDEN OF THE FALLS II

A previous posting showed a more expansive view of the waterfalls at Flċm, Norway. In that image, “the Maiden of the Falls,” was seen virtually as a microscopic figure amidst the rocks — standing by a hut on a rocky outcropping — in a terrifying site! The present image presents a close-up of her dwelling (the vertical wall that is part of her hut) and the flat promontory on which she makes her way to the edge of the water. She seems to time her appearance with the momentary stops the Myrdal-Flam train makes in order to allow passengers to climb down and photograph the falls. The short pause leaves them drenched by the spray, and singularly awestruck by the site.
