Photographer's Note
The first real snow fall in this southwest part of Norway was on the 19th December 2009. Just after Christmas, the temperatures plummeted to minus 16 Celsius, but it took about another 10 days fro the sea to freeze. It stayed like this for less than a week, and the temperature is now hovering between minus 7C and zero.

Fire and Ice, you can have even them together, Amelia! Coldness, ice and blue colours of the shadow are dominating the foreground, but the striking contrast of the warm colours of light and fire are giving some promises and hopes. The light is perfect in this photo.

Hi Amelia.
In my opinion your best shot posted so far. The sunset is really beautiful and the ice too. We can think that the blue ice is cold and make a great contrast to the warm sun.
Here in Bergen we have set a new record: 64 days in a row with snow, hope it will stay even longer. It's wonderful! This is also the all-time coldest winter. Your shot works fine as an illustration of this.
Best regards from the winter of Bergen.

Hi Amelia,
This is a stunning image, I also like your title, it is a great contrast between the coolness of the foreground and warm colours of the sunset. The light is captured very well with the foreground not being too dark. TFS

Hi Amelia
This photo moves my imagination, I almost see the big land with trees and big rocks, although my mind telle me that it is just a matter of scale ;). Excellent composition , lovely light and colours and great title :).
Have a nice day.

hi Amelia
welcome in my fan club!! You're Nr 42!
Nice picture with a big contrast between warm hues of the sunset and cold ones of the frozen lake. In order to enhance the shot, i would have cropped the top of the shot (blue sky).
Cheers
