Photographer’s Note

Tjelmen, in old days an area for summer farms - is a couple of hours walk up from Sauda, at 470 m.
Nowadays people spend their leisure time at the cabins, drive by their car, and have a pleasant 15 min walk from the end of a gravel road made for the forestry.
The valley has a lot of small lakes and its possible to get some fish here. Its also a fine area for crosscountry skiing and hiking.

Wow!! what a marvelous view! I particularly like the way the small houses are staggered in the composition. It gives it very nice depth along with those incredible mountains stretching into the distance. The color and contrast are very good, nice sharp detail and I love that waterfall in the background. Hi Jon,
Beautiful Norwegian landscape. Nice capture of the cabins against the mountain background and the little waterfall. Nice light colors ans saturation. A few steps backward would have fully captured the reflection of the cabins but this is still a pleasant image. Regards. Latiff.

What a beautiful setting for these small cottages at the bottom of this shear cliff covered in lush summer green with the fantastic falls providing tranquil sound effects. Excellent use of light renders clear crisp colors and fine details to this wonderful landscape.

Hi Jon,
You have framed a lovely summer scene with the cabins reflected in the lake & the forested hillside with the waterfall providing a bright highlight. I wonder if this is the same river in your previous post. You must be nearly through your polar night by now.

A lovely countryside image, I was thinking of summer cottages which was confirmed by the note, and I can guess from the surroundings including waterfall the region offers countless hiking opportunities, Exposure is fine, I just wish you could have enlarged the frame a bit to have a full reflection at the bottom.

this is a beautiful landscape in optimal light. Maybe a bit more of water could have added to the picture with the whole reflection of the small houses. But definitely a good composition.

Tout simplement fantastique cette vision avec la chute en arrière plan . les cabanes en avant plan donne une dimension des lieux.

Whoa Jon,

You have a really great gallery here on TE. This one is very nicely composed, I mean, you really cant miss much when photographing in rural Norway (well, the downside is you get so much rain:P), but still, it is top notch. A nice selection of colors, great sharpness and shadow-work (in the sky). An informative note.
