Photographer's Note
Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock is a massive cliff 604 metres above Lysefjorden. The top of the cliff is approximately 25 by 25 metres, square and almost flat, and is a famous tourist attraction in Norway.
There is a trail to the rock through different mountain landscapes.
The walk is very steep in places. The path takes about 5 hours for a round trip hike and starts at the Preikestol-hytte at a height of approximately 270 metres, and climbs to 604 metres. Eventhough the elevation difference is only 334 metres and the walk is not particularly long (3.8 km each way) the actual hike is more than one might initially expect as the path goes up and down various ridges.
On clear days you get a great view of the Lysefjord.
To date no safety ledge has been constructed on the edges of the cliff despite the great danger, in order to preserve the natural beauty of the cliff.
There is no record of anyone falling over the side of the cliff accidentally, but there have been several deaths due to suicide.

I cant believe you have 82 looks at this point and no response from any members. The shot is breathtaking. The only minor flaw I see is it appears youve slighty lost detail in your highlight areas.
Have a good morning,

I agree with RPoole5552. I am really surprised why we are so mean that we do not care to drop a positive comment for beautiful picture but give two points if it is someone within circle. There are many examples in TE among us. The scene is breathtaking and the the picture is clear with crisp colors. The cliff chilled my backbone.

Hi Kris,
Wow, what a location and what a fabulous capture. The human intervention in the foreground really gives a scale as to the height and danger here. Truly magnificent.

Hello Kris,
Breathtaking and well composed. Like others have hinted: if you had been "someone else" this would have given you 50 points within a couple of hours from well established TE friends who vote among themselves regardless of the quality of the pictures.
Best wishes,
Gert
