[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is just something I had thought about for some time. I had a nice size EF 300mm lens lying around and I have been wondering all summer how good the moon would look through it.
I eventually took my time during the previous full during the lunar cycle.

It was a bright evening so I decided to have a go with my recently refound tripod.
I don't believe the result looks too bad. Maybe a little too dark, even by my standards but I felt I got the correct amount of lunar detail that way.

Well, nothing more big to say than that.
Shot the photo outside my house using a tripod and remote trigger. Photo has been desaturated to remove unwanted light pollution.
Enjoy the result.

Odd Jarle

It seems that shooting at the moon is the dream of almost any photographer... I also have a 300 mm lens and, for sure, one needs much more than that to shoot a good picture of the moon. All of my tries were of no good.

I've seen wonderful moon pictures here in TE that were shot with telescopes or with 600 or even 1000 mm, including some kind of tele-converter...

I also think that the moon could be brighter here.

Well, one point for your asymmetric composition.

Needs more contrast ? Lucky you for the full moon,I didn't catch it :(,sure,I didn't have such a great lens as you had :(
This image could be perfect but something is missing
Huugs

A simple composition, but you've gotten it perfectly, with good sharpness! We can see details of it! Really well done!

Hello Odd...

I catched some weeks ago the full moon, was a great evening, the moon lightened all over the city...but the shot sucks...i don`t have the proper equipment,my Sigma 28-300 it`s not so great...even if I crop the quality sucks.
Your shot it`s quiet good.

Hi Odd,with good sharpness,wonderful moon pictures,well done.Hadi

Ciao Odd,
very beautiful and romantic image of the moon. The composition of the photo is very good because don't have put the moon in center but in the side of the image. You have done a good job.
