I'm still taking a break from my series of aircraft photos... You might have noticed :D

Instead, today I'm giving you a little something I shot about 2 weeks ago as I was coming home from my evening shift at work.
I usually don't drive this way, but it so happened I needed some fule for my car so I had to take a slight detour.
Luckily for me it wasn't in vain.
I happened to notice this lonely tree on a hilltop just surrounded by beautiful colours.
I didn't give it much of a thought, but then I decied to turn around the car and go for the oppourtunity.
Neither this was in vain.

My only problem with this photo was that there was some motion blur due to the fairly long shutter speed.
I managed to solve this...sort of... by doing a few changes with eg. Neatimage and a little bit of sharpening.

Now, the judges will have to be you.
I'm satisfied with my work, so for me that has to be enough.
I would like to quote someone I know: "If you aren't satisfied with your own work, do it over".

Odd Jarle

HI Odd.

Love the colors .. The dark palette .. the nearly empty sky .. the lone tree all come together to create your theme. The diffusion makes it seem like from a dream ..

A strategy I use in this situation if I can't tripod .. is to use the self timer set to something short so I at least avoid the shake of my click.
.. and a nice deep breath ..

really effective image.

take care,

John

Hi Odd,
Beautiful impression. This is a soothing and picturesque spectacle. I like the vertical composition and the attractive silhouette. Very fine and peaceful natural symphony. Have a nice week, thank you
George

Hi OJ,
The smooth color transition is the star here, the cloud streaks add attractive detail and the lone tree sihouette provides a fine focasl point. HLJ, Pat

Hi OJ. Excellent photo, I can’t fault the colour and composition but as you say perhaps a little soft. Not to worry, a great image just the same. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hello Odd Jarle,
Nice use of the lonely tree theme!
What makes this differ from most is the evening atmosphere and the after sunset colours!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Odd, it is sooo impressive!
You have it excellent composed and framed.
It works really great, the sky has very nice colors.
The dark part of the photo comes great here.
Tfs
Evan
